Women's Colours

This season is all about being correct. Respectability and decorum sets the standard for autumn/winter fashion.

“The lady,” high glamour, with immaculately finished grooming, sees her way to the forefront. Slick finger waved or “done hair”, shiny locks or cropped short with a heavy fringe. Hollywood make-up, including luscious lips, glossed, plumped and precise, in cherry and signature red. Nude faces also work in with ponytails and buns. Hair extensions are the must have accessory for lengthening and thickening. The screen siren arched eyebrow is precisely extended.

Faux fur will be seen on the streets glaming up garments, accessories and shoes. The waist is still in focus. Wide, narrow and mid sized belts, self belts, contrast belts and patent. Belted coats, luxurious knits and the key to style winter 2008 is - fabric. Bonded wools in dark grey, gold or green. Knits are every wear, the short sleeved jumper, the cardigan, cropped or as a dress, worn with tweeds, checks and plaids.

Absolute "bling" is replaced with Hollywood muted gold, silver, pewter, gunmetal, and many studded and sequined fabrics including laminates, leathers, patents, rubbers and plastics with satins for the glamour moment.

Matching accessories is once more correct including a new season pair of gloves and scarf casually tied to the handbag or creatively slung around the neck. We will see amazing works of art in shoes, platform pumps and stilettos, booties and boots, belts and headwear including caps. At the height of fashion, hats, pom pom berets, wool hats, screen siren hats, head wear is a must.

Men's Colours

The season brings a kaleidoscope of colour, for women muted brights, for men neutrals, beige, browns and unisex new black is grey.

Layers take men’s and women’s wear to a new level. Layering textures, tweed, plaid, leather and colour. Nothing is too busy for our fashionista. Medium size bags take over from the oversized bag, still lending the practicality of space but refined. Tube dresses, paneled with colour and striking graphics give artwork to your fashion piece.

Outrageously oversized knits, slung over satin, feather trimmed heels, creative headwear and winter warmth in shades of bronze, copper, ivory and ebony. Empire line mini’s have a say, some even waterproofed and making a comeback are short petite coats, exaggerated collars, full sleeves and decorative metallic buttons.

Exotically detailed neck pieces, royally salute glamour this season. The tube dress also remains to grace the runway. Bold geometric panels of colour with splices of fabric, colour and binding, strips, black and white, died chiffon from neck to floor gives evening wear movement and flair and flow.

The biggest secret of the season is knits. You will find knits in street wear, office wear, evening wear, accessories and special occasion.

"In my 25 years' experience in the fashion, training and event management industry, I've watched some of the models I've trained turn into successful TV and film stars. I've had shy, inhibited people walk away from my workshops with a new sense of self-confidence and a smile. I've seen unemployed people develop renewed pride and self-expression. I've helped CEOs conquer their public-speaking fears and I've seen image makeovers positively transform individuals." Lizzie Wagner
